I just got back from the vet clinic. Andre cried out this morning while I was drinking my coffee and I went to him to find he was peeing (and peeing and peeing). I don't think he's been using the LB I put in the living room for him. He's been sleeping on the couch (covered with 3 towels) or under the cat tree. (Unfortunately the 3-towel thickness didn't do the trick, but I moved him to his other spot and cleaned the couch immediately. That's the least important thing...)
I called Dr. Bob and told him that despite what all I had to offer him, he hadn't eaten since Friday morning. I don't know if he had drunk water. Very little was gone from the bowl next to him every day.
Dr. Bob and I decided that since he was just lying around breathing very heavily and was crying sometimes, it was time. I wrapped him in a throw and carried him to the car. I didn't put him in a carrier because I thought that would be more stressful.
The vet techs took him in the back to put in a catheter so Dr. Bob could push in the euth drug while I held Andre. Then Kelly (tech) came back with Andre still wrapped in the throw and told me he'd passed while they had him in the back. I'm sorry I wasn't with him...
He was a beloved pet, and in MCV a beluffed hubbykit, and daddykit. Here, Henri, his buddy with whom he played, will miss him.
