Mommy's friend found a mommy cat and four kittens in the crawl space of her basement. She has them in a very large guinea pig cage at the moment, and Mommy is going there tomorrow to see them. Her friend has never had cats before, but she is going to maybe keep the mom and one of the kittens, and after they are ready to be separated from their mom, Mommy will help her find homes for the rest. Her friend sent her a picture of them on facebook asking what to do. Daddy saw the picture and the message, looked at Mommy, and said, "NO WAY!!" Mommy told her friend about daddy's reaction and said, "Well, so much for my first idea, LOL!"

Mommy's friend doesn't have any idea how old they are or how to take care of them. They alm

ost definitely will have fleas and worms, so mommy will bring a flea comb when she goes there tomorrow to clean them up. She's going to teach her friend what do do for the Mom and babies, and also going to get an idea of how old they are and whether they are boys or girls. She'll bring a small litterpan, some litter, and some kitten food to help get them started. From the picture mom saw, they might be three to four weeks old. Their eyes are open, and they are walking around a bit, but not much. The momcat looks like she might have a little Maine Coon in her, but mom thinks she's too small to be a purebred. She actually looks a little like a small version of me! I'm so excited!

Mommy says the kittens are furry cute. She thinks there are two boys and two girls, but she's not totally sure. She will be going back on Friday and will check again. The mamacat was a little nervous at first, but she likes humans. Mom thinks that she was a housecat who got dumped when she got pregnant. She is starting to relax now, and seems very happy to be inside. She comes right up to humans for petting, and didn't mind letting Mommy and her friend Heather handle her kittens.

Heather is going to keep the mamacat and one kitten, but they haven't decided which one yet. They are 6-7 weeks old. They are still nursing, but eating a bit of dry kitten food too. Their eyes are just starting to change color, and they get around pretty well. The mamacat has a vet appointment tomorrow to get checked out and dewormed. Mommy flea combed them all and gave them baths with waterless foaming shampoo.

No, they are all still with their mom, who has now been officially named Miss Kitty. They will stay with her until they are about 12 weeks old. Once Heather decides which kitten she is keeping, we will start trying to find homes for the others. They are all very cute.

P.S., the reason that Heather's kids don't want to name any of them Cuddles is because I play with them when they come to visit and Cuddles hides from them. He loves his Katie, but doesn't like other kids. I like everybody, so they like me!
