well, i tried getting a pic from the gallery, it took the url, and the picture appeard but then when i hit create thread the pic disappeared from the post

Did you click on the photo in the gallery, and copy the URL from under the photo (not from the browser box at top)? That's what worked for me.

Both ways, when i clicked the one at the top , thats when it appeared in the post, but when i clicked create post I only got the text part.
